At present, the portable ‘Ghar Ki Rasoi’ food van service that offers home-style ‘Ghar Jaisa Bhojan’ is feeding 2200 persons every day. This especially benefits the daily wage earners who cannot afford a healthy meal. Earlier SSCT was offering meals at subsidized rates of Rs.5 per meal. However, after the world witnessed the rise and spread of the deadly virus, Covid-19 that led to massive unemployment, scarcity of food and poverty at its fastest pacing rate in the country, SSCT took upon providing with the same meals free of cost while following the stipulated norms on ‘social distancing’and also providing 300-400 masks daily, to those in need standing in the queues during the food distribution activity.
SSCT has proactively increased the food van rotations to twice a day, thereby offering lunch and dinner in areas where the majority of such vulnerable individuals were found. Two of the regular van locations have been outside Guru Tej Bahadur (“GTB”) hospital, Sanjay Camp situated in B74, Okhla phase 1.
Additionally, SSCT is feeding 800 in lunch, 800 in evening and 600 in Farukhabad Ghar Ki Rasoi.
